Meet Salvador

Kaiwa-11

Meet Salvador. He is from the Kaiwá people indigenous to western Brazil, the second largest indigenous group in Brazil and yet one of the most marginalised. Salvador believes that if he translates God’s message of salvation into Kaiwá it will give great hope to his people. Salvador works full time as a night-watchman at the local school and, between making his hourly rounds each night, sits in his small security office and steadily translates Scripture. He has been working for decades. Those books piled high on his porch are the references that he uses for this task, his favourite books.
