East India Express – Weekly Inspiring Image
This looks like a fun way to travel to work, but if you’ve ever been to India you’ll know these people aren’t hanging out to see the view. On the train network in the suburbs of Kolkata (previously Calcutta) this is the only place left to stand. Like many cities throughout Asia and around the world, Kolkata experiences the effects of a high rate of urbanization – people moving from rural areas into the city. The result is a cultural hub of almost 16 million people speaking dozens of different languages. With so many language communities in one place imagine the possibilities for a Bible translation team.
