Manila Metropolis – Weekly Inspiring Image

The sun sets over the sprawling metropolis of Manila. In the past week torrential rains have caused widespread flooding throughout the Philippines’ capital triggering landslides, interrupting electricity supply and displacing 850,000 people from their homes. One month’s worth of wet-season rain fell within 24 hrs and in parts of Manila the water level rose up to two stories high. While the flood waters receded significantly a couple days ago, it is now raining again as another typhoon storm sits off the coast. Two Wycliffe organisations, Wycliffe Philippines and TAP and the Wycliffe Asia-Pacific Area office are located in an affected region. Please pray for our Filipino friends and colleagues and all those in Manila suffering from this disaster.
