Dark Houses – Monday’s Inspiring Image

Four young children from a remote village in Vanuatu are looking on in shy curiosity at the arrival of strangers in their community. You may notice the house in the background with its narrow door and absence of windows. Like many Ni-Vanuatu, the people of this village still live in dark houses, building them without windows and only very narrow doors so that the evil spirits can’t get in. Like many Pacific peoples who’ve been “Christians” for hundreds of years, they still don’t have the chance to understand what it really means to be rescued from darkness. (see Col 1:13) A translation team is hard at work, seeking to bring them that message for the first time.
